To create a buzz around the Big Billion Day Sale on Flipkart by maximising regional outreach to the ShareChat community.

About the Brand

Flipkart Big Billion Day Sale of 2020 is the biggest flagship event of the year, which is now in its seventh edition. Initiated in 2014, The Big Billion Day Sale has evolved into a festive season of celebration, partnership, and progress; which ultimately brings cheer to millions of Indians. Kiranas and retailers across the country joined this festive cheer as Flipkart Wholesale - the digital B2B marketplace of India’s homegrown, Flipkart Group. The Best Price cash-and-carry stores hosted ‘The Big Billion Days’ sale for the first time. Interestingly, it was the Tier II and Tier III cities that dominated the sales, with The Big Billion Days generating 40% sales for Flipkart Wholesale, and Best Price generating 95% sales.

Brand's Ask

Realising the business potential from Tier II and Tier III cities, Flipkart implemented regional language adverts to reach out to their intended target audience. The brand seeked to launch a full-throttle all-India campaign, making it a one of a kind national online sale event for the masses.

Our Solution

To meet Flipkart's - the big billion day sale objective, we created a Sale Kick-off campaign with a target of approximately 4 Crore impressions. The Sale communication was developed in multiple languages including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada. First-pinned posts were also used as engagement drivers for the sale. We pinned the brand poster on the homepage of the app for quick viewership.

We delivered the Brand Message to the Sharechat community in regional languages, increasing the brand outreach to active user communities spread across India. 1.5X campaign outreach was delivered and over 1.3 million users engaged with the brand by clicking the sale banner. Flipkart acknowledged that Tier II and Tier III cities dominated The Big Billion Days Sales, with 40% sale for Flipkart Wholesale and 95% sale for Best Price.
